Story behind the song
In this example, which is the first 5 measures of a blues in C, we start off with C major pent. over C7. C minor pent. is used over the IV chord (F7). Then over the next two measures of I chord (C7), we use G minor pent. and C major pent., creating a mini ii-V progression (Gm7-C7)leading to F7. We resolve on the F7 chord with Eb from the C minor pentatonic scale.
