Story behind the song
This song I wrote for my better half. It had a umpteen number of verses but I boiled it down to these. I look at it as sort of my "Shelter From the Storm" type song by Bob Dylan. To Kimberly, Love.
Lyrics
Not The Same Here Anymore
A tree fell in the woods and you believed it
The watched pot began to boil
All the things I took as granite
Were nothing more then common soil
Every road I walked was dusty
Piling up to your front door
Swept the mat and found I'm welcome
It's not the same here anymore
On the street I heard you mentioned
A shadow on a photograph
And when I finally saw the picture
I knew that I just had to laugh
Always seems the same old same old
Everythings been done before
The silhouettes enough to tell me
It's not he same here anymore
The squirrel nest 'pears high and lofty
And looking up all time stands still
As dust piles up high into mountains
And mountains roll back into hills
Forever I would like to know you
But could I know that all for sure
Take one chance and find it certain
It's not the same here anymore
So now trees fall and watched pots boil
Even if there's none to see
It's only big when standing close by
Like every forest to every tree
So if you call it doesn't matter
Be I far or near your door
I know I'll always find it open
It's not the same here anymore
What a great song, Keep writing and sharing! Blessings to you & your ministry! ang
