Story behind the song
Hester pit, Northumberland, England, 1862, a large piece of machinery (weighing 17 tons) breaks free at the surface and falls into the shaft, smashing into the cage. Four men are thrown out of the cage and fall into the shaft, one of the men still clinging to the cage calls down the shaft into the darkness to his son who was one of those thrown out. The shaft was blocked and 205 men and boys died including all of those thrown from the cage, 3 of them were just 10 years old.

This track shows a huge degree of empathy. It's an extremely sad but lovely song, written and sung from the heart. I can understand perfectly how you became inspired. In admiration. Carol.
