Story behind the song
I liked the definition of the word Epiphany for some time and I guess I was moved to work it in a song. As a matter fact I remembering waking from sleep with "Epiphany of Heaven" seeming to be said out loud, and I guess I figured to write a song called that. Had a critique that said he liked the fact that I did not feel I had to jump throw the hoops of what a good song is. That I did not do the ABC's of writing, but what was inside of me! I cherished that critique-loved it much!
Lyrics
Once as a little lad
My dreams being all that I had
I sat in the field and counted sheep
Fell into dreaming as I fell into sleep
I...
Walked on streets of solid gold
Drank crystal clear water so cold
Heard words unknown and untold
As the Son in his robe, like a million suns, in brightness to behold
Said, "My child keep dreaming as you grow old"
It was then I woke
Old at seven
To this epiphany of heaven
Once as a little child
Restless and wild
In a world that seems troubled so deep
I prayed long by my bedside as I drifted to sleep
I...
Walked on streets of solid gold
Drank crystal clear water so cold
Heard words unknown and untold
Like a lion paraded 'round so bold
As the Son in his robe, like a million suns, in brightness to behold
Said, "My child keep dreaming as you grow old"
It was then I woke
Older at seven
To this epiphany of heaven
Once when I felt a little older
My vigor being a bit bolder
I mounted on wings of eagles to a mountain top steep
I pondered and thought, and my thinking it put me to sleep
I...
Walked on streets of solid gold
Drank crystal clear water so cold
Heard words unknown and untold
Like a lion paraded 'round so bold
Held treasure that no one can hold
As the Son in his robe, like a million suns, in brightness to behold
Said, "My child keep dreaming as you grow old"
It was then I woke
Oldest at seven
To this epiphany of heaven
