Our Garden Home
There's the word in the breeze and it whispers through the trees
And it always makes the garden feel so cool
And the river that is rolling with the water fresh and flowing
Such the life has always been the rule
And the fruit on every tree
Is there food for you and me
Refreshed by the water divine
And I wonder as I wander through this garden so sublime
Why no trouble in our garden home
There's a serpant and his hiss is his statement
I'm not sure yet for sure somethings wrong
And the question I am doubting I can hear it like I'm shouting
And I know 'cause I've heard it for so long
Says, "The fruit on this here tree,
Will make you wise as me
Just one taste and I know you will see"
So I wander over yonder while he slithers through the trees
Here comes trouble in our garden home
Now that tree in the midst of the garden
With the fruit hanging down on the limb
Was so tempting to the eyes and tasty to the tongue
And the outcome has come it's a sin
And it passed from me to you
It will pass to others too
You can doubt it though you do it all the time
And no wonder such a blunder goes ever on and on
So much trouble in our garden home
