Songwriter of pop, country, inspirational songs. I like to write. I travel a lot to Asia...so my music may have an Asian influence.
Story behind the song
This song concerns global warming. Dedicated to the native peoples of Brazil, it largely applies to our own native people as well. For the sake of God's Earth, for the sake of our children's children, forests have to be well managed around the world. When I wrote this song a few years ago, the message was "Let's do our part in saving trees!"
Lyrics
Let Me Fly
4/4 Copyright Stanley Loh February 27, 1989
Too many people to satisfy,
Growing needs, greed and wine.
Your cattle ranches take my land.
Now we're hungry, now we band!
You owe too much, you can't pay,
So you rob me blind, I have no say.
Your modern world takes more than trees,
It takes my spirit, I ain't free!
CHORUS
Let me fly to the skies, let me fly.
Let me fly to my home where I belong.
Leave my forest all alone, singing songs.
Clean the air that I breathe, Let me be.
Our fight ain't over, but you push on,
Killing trees, burning on,
I wish for power to overcome,
And making peace with the troublesome.
The gems you took off from my land,
Ain't worth that much, good as sand.
If in your lifetime you can't breathe,
If in your children's they can't live!
CHORUS
Let them fly to their skies, let them fly.
Let them fly to their homes where they belong.
Leave their forest all alone, singing songs,
Clean the air that they breathe, Let them be!
