Never thought I'd write a cowboy song but then again, I was spending much of my winters in South Padre Texas jamming and performing with country musicians, so this sweet clip-clopping Tex-Mex ballad was inevitable.

Story behind the song
I actually woke up one morning with the chorus melody and lyrics playing in a dream, so I got up and wrote the verses. As a kid in the late 50's and early 60's I couldn't help be drawn to all those wonderfully hokey westerns where the cowboy rides off into the sunset at the end. The iconic image was indelibly imprinted on my mind.
Lyrics
Oh there's nothing quite like when a cowboy gets Up on his horse and rides into the sunset When the dust has settled and all is said And the times are changing and life is giving you none Of the deep felt meaning that once filled your days And there's a chance that now you'll cloud the sun's redeeming rays Remember there's nothing quite like when a cowboy gets Up on his horse and rides into the sunset When your trials are over and you have won your right No need to flog a dead horse, it's time to end the fight That doesn't mean there's nothing more that you can do or say In another time or place on another day 'Cause there's nothing quite like when a cowboy gets Up on his horse and rides into the sunset...
